You might have seen the story recently about a large number of container ships backed up at the port of Los Angeles. It seems to be happening everywhere--from New York to New Jersey, and Texas, too. There are a ton of reasons for this, but simply put, it's a result of global supply chain issues building up over the last 18 months. 

On the upside, we source our ingredients from the USA, so we're not having to face international freight charges (although, trust me, freight is ridiculously high). But, what we are facing are things like jar shortages, volatile availability and price surges in fruit.

I know how much our products mean to so many of you, and I have no plans to raise our prices. In fact, we just introduced $5 shipping because we know how annoying those costs can be for our customers. But what you can expect to see are differences in packaging (hello, white lids!) and some of our products selling out faster than usual in Q4.

As the holiday season approaches, all kinds of retailers will be affected by shortages, delays, and price increases. Experts are even recommending you start getting ready for Christmas now. I get it--that’s early. But now might be a good time to make sure you have plenty of jam, hot sauce, mocktail elixir and biscuit mix, so if things get really crazy and delivery times skyrocket, you already have some on hand.

In the meantime, we will do our best to keep everything running smoothly and make sure you can get the not-so-average jam that you've come to expect from Trade Street Jam Co.
