Berry Vodka Smash

A vodka cocktail that's bursting with the flavor of juicy berries, fresh herbs, blackberry jam and lemon juice.

Makes 1

 

2 oz. King St. Vodka
1 tsp. Blackberry Mulled Merlot Jam
2 raspberries
1 medium strawberry, stem removed
1/2 sprig fresh rosemary
1/2 oz. lemon juice
1/4 cup honey syrup
Garnish: lemon wedge, sprig of fresh rosemary

For honey syrup:
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup hot water

1. In the pint half of a Boston shaker, muddle strawberry, raspberries, jam, and rosemary until fruit is pulverized into a smooth pulp.

2. Add vodka, lemon, honey syrup, and a cup of ice. Shake and then pour into a double old fashioned glass. Garnish with a lemon wedge and rosemary spring if desired.

For honey syrup:
Heat 1/4 cup of water in the microwave for 45 seconds until warm. Stir in 1/4 cup of honey until fully dissolved and golden brown. The proper consistency is a little thicker than water when at room temp.
