Spiced Plum Jam + Gin Cocktail
The spices used to make the simple syrup in this recipe mix well with the gin to make an aromatic, rich cocktail that's truly something special.

1/2 oz. spiced simple syrup
1 oz. lemon juice
1 tbsp. Plum + Rose Jam
2 oz. gin
Ice
For garnish: slice of fresh plum
For the spiced simple syrup:
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. ground cardamom
1/4 tsp. freshly grated nutmeg
1. In a small saucepan bring the water, sugar, cardamom and nutmeg to a boil. Cook until the sugar has completely dissolved. Let cool. Pour the syrup into a small jar and save extra in the refrigerator for additional uses.
2. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the spiced simple syrup, lemon juice, jam and gin. Shake well and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a slice of plum.
