Thyme for a Celebration

Grapefruit + Gin Cocktail

The addition of this unique citrus fruit makes this gin-based cocktail shine for a tart but refreshing pick-me-up.

Makes 1

 

1 ½ oz gin of choice
1 ½ oz grapefruit juice (fresh squeezed)
1 oz thyme simple syrup (recipe below)
Spoonful of Blackberry Mulled Merlot Jam
Splash of vanilla
Ice
Sprig of thyme for garnish

Combine ingredients into a shaker, shake vigorously, pour over ice, garnish with thyme sprig.

For the thyme simple syrup:
½ cup water
½ cup sugar
2-3 sprigs of fresh thyme

Bring water, sugar and thyme to a simmer until sugar is dissolved, remove from heat and cool.
