Adding jam to savory sandwiches adds an element of surprise and a subtle sweet flavor that pairs perfectly.

4 slices focaccia
8 slices thick-cut bacon
1/4 cup Blackberry Mulled Merlot Jam
1 tbsp. BOLD Backyard BBQ
1/4 cup mayo
1 large tomato, sliced
2 oz. spinach or lettuce

 

1. Candied bacon: Place bacon onto a parchment coated sheet tray. Spread a thin layer of jam onto each piece of bacon and season with Backyard BBQ blend. Cook the bacon at 400 F. for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy.

2. Sandwich assembly: Cut the focaccia slice in half. Spread a thin layer of mayo onto each slice. Add slices of tomato, candied bacon, spinach, and additional jam.

3. Serve and enjoy!
